District Technology Coordinator

Qualifications:
- Degree in Instructional Technology, technology-related field, or equivalent  desired
- Alabama teaching certificate or ability to obtain desired
- Training in network operating systems and management information systems desired
- Experience in staff development in instructional technology techniques and strategies
- Grant writing experience desired


Salary:
Commensurate with degree, experience, and Lanett City School System’s salary schedule for 11 month employees

Job Description:

-    Provides leadership and direction to the district technology program, including services, facilities, budget, equipment, personnel, and operation of student and administrative computer systems and program.

-    Coordinates and monitors district’s technology plan. 

-    Ensures proper accountability for all technology funds

-    Conducts duties and responsibilities under the supervision of the Superintendent or designee

-    Provides professional development opportunities in the area of technology to faculty and staff

-    Provides complex and expert technical support to end users and district and site technology leaders

-    Provides consultation and direction regarding LAN and WAN infrastructure and management


Performance Responsibilities:

-    Keeps abreast of new technologies, including operating systems, and network infrastructure

-    Plans, organizes, and oversees the implementation of major system upgrades and installations

-    Oversees administration of district WAN for educational and management services

-    Prepares and submits E-rate applications in a timely manner

-    Implements and updates the district technology plan and oversees the district Acceptable Use Policy for network access

-    Prepares and submits state department reports in a timely manner

-    Oversees district inventory of hardware and software

-    Prepares grant proposals in relation to technology

-    Facilitates school technology teams and district technology committee and coordinates the computer technical support

-    Serves as resource person in instructional technology and management information systems

-    Serves as a resource person for the curriculum personnel and faculty in the area of technology integration, technology and information literacy skills, and appropriate and ethical use of technology

-    Provides technical support to end users throughout the district for hardware and software problems

-    Ensures that computer and related technology services are provided in a timely manner

-    Assists in recommending, defining, and establishing district standards in technology

-    Oversees the purchase of technology hardware and software applications based on district standards

-    Acts as a liaison/manager with hardware and software vendors

-    Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Counselor

 The Lanett City Board of Education is seeking applications for the position of high school counselor. Candidate must possess a valid Class A certification in Guidance and Counseling.

Salary is commensurate with degree, experience, and the Lanett City School System's salary schedule for 10 month employees.

Instructional Assistants (Classified Position)

 The Lanett City Board of Education is seeking applications for a full-time instructional assistant.  Candidates must possess at a minimum, an Associate's Degree (AA) or its equivalent (48 semester credit hours from an institution of higher learning).
